Marc Singer reprises the role of Dar (aka: the Beastmaster) in this sequel to 1982's The Beastmaster.

The story has Dar and his animal companions traveling through a time portal to 1990's Los Angeles so as to stop his evil half-brother (played by Wings Hauser) from aquiring a nuclear detonator.

In addition to the Los Angeles area, filming locations included Glen Canyon in Utah along with both the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon in Arizona.

The sorceress Lyranna is played by Sarah Douglas whose previous credits include 1977's The People That Time Forgot and 1984's Conan the Destroyer.

In 2001 actor James Avery did the voice of Chief Keewazi for 3 episodes of The Legend of Tarzan animated TV series.

James Avery passed in 2013 at the age of 68.
