Direct-to-video sequel to 1997's George of the Jungle with Christopher Showerman replacing Brendan Fraser in the title role.

Reprising their roles from the first film are Thomas Haden Church (as Lyle Van de Groot) and John Cleese (providing the voice of Ape).

Also returning is Australian voice actor Keith Scott, who serves as the "Narrator" for both films.

Previous credits for director David Grossman include 15 episodes of the Superboy TV series (1989-1992) and one episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (S6.E2).

Christopher Showerman later appeared (in the role of Stack) in the 2009 version of The Land That Time Forgot, based on the story by Tarzan author Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Location filming included the Tallebudgera Valley, an outer locality of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
