Made for French television, this adaption of the 1719 novel by Daniel Defoe starred Pierre Richard (as Robinson Crusoe) and Nicolas Cazalé (as Friday).

Premired December 2003 in two parts: L'île de Robinson (Robinson's Island) and Robinson et Vendredi (Robinson and Friday).

In addition to his many acting credits, Nicolas Cazalé was a model for the 2006 Chevignon mens' fashion campaign.

Pierre Richard appeared as himself in the 2009 comedy/fantasy Cinéman.

The production filmed on locations in Baracoa, Guantanamo, Cuba.
