On the eve of the Mexican-American war, a young Apache warrior sets out to avenge the extermination of his tribe.
Directed by Gottfried Kolditz, this "Red Western" starred Serbian-German actor/stuntman Gojko Mitic in the role of heroic Apache warrior Ulzana.
Created by Communist East German's legendary DEFA Film Studios, the Red Westerns made the Native Americans the heroes and portrayed the white settlers as villians.
Other films starring Gojko Mitic include The Sons of Great Bear (1966), Chingachgook: The Great Snake (1967), Trail of the Falcon (1968) and Tecumseh (1972).
A sequel titled Ulzana was released the following year in 1974.
The production filmed in Romania and Uzbekistan.
