Australian-Canadian-American sword and sorcery television series inspired by the 1982 theatrical film and the 1959 science fiction novel The Beast Master by author Alice "Andre" Norton.

Cast as Dar (the Beastmaster) is Australian-American actor and model Daniel Goddard who later became a regular on the soap opera The Young and the Restless from 2007-2019.

Co-starring in the role of Tao is Jackson Raine whose screen credits also include the 2001 TV-movie The Diamond of Jeru.

Filmed on locations in Australia including at the Village Roadshow Studios, Oxenford, Gold Coast, Queensland.

The series aired from 1999 to 2002 for three seasons and 66 episodes.
