Orginally intended to be a sequel to 1967's The Valley of the Dolls but was later revised to be a parody of the orginal film.

Directed by Russ Meyer (the "King of the Nudies") from a story and screenplay by film critic Roger Ebert, the film starred Dolly Read, John LaZar and Michael Blodgett.

Filmed on locations in Hollywood and Los Angeles and at 20th Century-Fox studios, Century City, California.

When released the film was given an X-rating by the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) but was reclassified as NC-17 in 1970.

John LaZar (Ronnie "Z-Man" Barzell) would later appear in 1987's Deathstalker II in the role of Jarek the Sorcerer.

Cast as Lance Rocke, actor Michael Blodgett wears a pair of loincloth-style leopard print briefs in his final scenes. (Agree or disagree, but his physical appearance and attire in these final scenes resemble that of "Korak, the Son of Tarzan" as pictured in the 1964-1968 Gold Key comic series.)

Michael Blodgett passed in 2007 at the age of 68.
