It is revealed that Bomba has in his possession the Golden Idol of Watusi which is sought by an evil prince who has hired a cold-blooded hunter to retrieve it from the jungle boy.

Johnny Sheffield's tenth appearance as Bomba, the Jungle Boy is a thrilling adventure and a sort of sequel to the fourth film in the series The Hidden City (1950).

Actor Rick Vallin (Abdullah) had previously appeared in Tarzan's Magic Fountain (1949) starring Lex Barker, and with former Tarzan Johnny Weissmuller in Jungle Jim (1948), Jungle Manhunt (1951), King of the Congo (1952) and Voodoo Tiger (1952).

Cast as Nadji, Bill Walker previously appeared in Bomba and the Jungle Girl (1953), Tarzan's Savage Fury (1952) and Bomba On Panther Island (1949).

This was the third and final Bomba film for Kimbbo the Chimp, the previous two being African Treasure and Bomba and the Jungle Girl.

California filming locations include the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden, Arcadia, and at the Melody Ranch Studio, Newhall.

Rick Vallin passed in 1977 at the age of 57.

Bill Walker passed in 1992 at the age of 95.
