This 12 chapter serial is based on the six-part Argosy Magazine story Jan of the Jungle by Otis Adelbert Kline (who is perhaps best known for his literary feud with fellow author Edgar Rice Burroughs).

Cast as Jan, actor Noah Beery Jr. later appeared in many westerns, including Davy Crockett, Indian Scott (1950), War Arrow (1953), and White Feather (1955).

Director Lew Landers (credited as Louis Friedlander) later worked with former Tarzan Johnny Weissmuller on Jungle Manhunt (1951) and Jungle Jim in the Forbidden Land (1952).

This twelve chapter serial was later edited into a 72 minute feature film and re-released in 1956 under the title of Savage Fury.

The production filmed at Universal Studios, Universal City, California.

Noah Berry Jr. passed in 1994 at the age of 81.
