Filmed on location in Israel, this martial arts fantasy adventure was directed by Richard Moore whose previous films include the 1968 western The Scalphunters.

The film was to have starred martial artist actor Bruce Lee who concieved the story as The Silent Flute.

Canadian actor Jeff Cooper is cast as Cord, a barbarian fighter who is on a quest to find a wizard ( Zetan) who is in possession of a book that contains all of the world's wisdom.

Also starring is David Carradine, whose film Deathsport was released earlier that same year. The cast also included Roddy McDowell (The Planet of the Apes) and Christopher Lee (Horror of Dracula).

In the role of an muscle-bound African warrior, actor Earl Maynard would later appear in 1982's The Sword and the Sorcerer.

Jeff Cooper passed in 2018 at the age of 82.
