Supernatural thriller follows a doctor, played by Kevin Costner (co-producer of Rapa Nui), traveling to the Amazon jungle after having visions of his wife whose body was never found after a bus accident during a trip to help the local natives. He locates the bus in the river and sees a vision of his wife as the vehicle becomes submerged. Almost drowning, he is rescued by some Yanomami natives. They then help him to understand what it is that his deceased wife wanted him to know.

Filming locations included the Mauka forests in Wainiha, Kealia and Wailua, Hawaii.

A 2003 remake of this film was made in India under the title of Saaya.
