This was Brad Harris debut in a leading role after appearing as a gladiator in 1960's Spartacus and as a muscleman in 1959's Li'l Abner. The film has Goliath battling not only gladiators and Amazon warriors but also a killer ape and a hord of giants, along with a lion and some savage cavemen. Fernando Rey (The Light at the Edge of the World) is cast as an evil king determined to have Goliath killed.
