A man dressed as a Hawaiian warrior is murdered with a leiomano (a small paddle with shark teeth sewn around the edges) near the site of a historical reenactment.

The title of the episode means "defender" in the Hawaiian language.

Director Steve Boyum previous credits include the 2004 TV mini-series King Solomon's Mines starring Patrick Swayze.
