The second of two films released in 1975 directed by Ken Russell and starring Roger Daltrey (the first being Tommy).

The movie is a surreal biographical musical comedy about the 19th-century classical composer Franz Liszt (as portrayed by Roger Daltrey).

Actor Paul Nicholas (cast as composer Richard Wagner) had also previously appeared in Tommy.

The term "Lisztomania" (coined by poet Heinrich Heine in 1844) was used describe the massive public response to Liszt's piano performances.

The production filmed on location in England, UK.

Ken Russell passed in 2011 at the age of 84.
