Released to television in the United States under the title Colossus of the Arena.

Starring actor/bodybuilder Mark Forest, whose other films include Son of Samson (1960), Hercules Against the Mongols (1963), and The Lion of Thebes (1964).

This was the first film appearance of bodybuilder Dan Vadis who went on to star in such peplum classics as Rebel Gladiators (1962), The Ten Gladiators (1963), and Hercules the Invincible (1964).

Director Michele Lupo would work with Mark Forest again the following year on their next film: Goliath and the Sins of Babylon (1963).
