SyFy made-for-television horror film about a jungle monster - part plant, part animal - awakened by an expedition to retrieve a fabled dagger from an ancient burial ground.

Not to be confused with other "same titled" films, this one stars Max Martini, Betsy Russell, Benito Martinez, Sam Medina and Nicholas Sean Gomez.

The title "Mandrake" refers to the root of a plant whose shape often resembles human figures and has been associated with magic rituals throughout history.

Cast as a jungle warrior, actor Alex Livinalli would later appear in Yellow Rock (2011), Cowboys and Indians (2011) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).

Also cast as a jungle warrior is actor and cover model Alan Stands Alone Bryant (Savage Abandon, Savage Sun and Savage Dawn by Cassie Edwards, 2008-2009 Leisure Books).

Filmed on location in Louisianna near Shreveport.
