Written and directed by Guy Jenkin, the film stars Jessica Alba, Hugh Dancy and Eugene Salleh as Belansai, an Iban native.

The cast also included actor Junix Inocian, whose screen credits include 1982's Invaders of the Lost Gold.

The production filmed on locations in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia.

Junix Inocian passed in 2015 at the age of 64.
