Actor Joe Lara (Tarzan in Manhattan) returned to the role of Tarzan in this syndicated television series which ran for one season from August 28, 1996 until May 25, 1997.
Though most of the series filmed on locations at Sun City resort in the North West Province of South Africa, the pilot (episodes 1 & 2) was filmed at the Disney-MGM studios in Orlando, Florida - including the Moroccan pavilion at Epcot.
A second season was planned with French-born actor and fitness model Xavier Declie replacing Joe Lara as Tarzan but it was cancelled during pre-production.
Joe Lara passed in 2021 at the age of 58.
