This is Johnny Weissmuller's tenth appearance as Tarzan, Johnny Sheffield's seventh appearance as Boy and Brenda Joyce's second appearance as Jane.

Directed by Kurt Neumann (Tarzan and the Amazons), who would return to helm the next film in the series, Tarzan and the Huntress (1947).

Cast as Kimba, Tommy Cook previously appeared as Kimbu in the 1941 serial Jungle Girl and years later would come up with the storyline for the 1977 suspense movie Rollercoaster.

Actress Acquanetta (Queen Lea) previous film credits include Arabian Nights (1942), Rhythm of the Islands (1943) and Jungle Woman (1944).

Actor Anthony Caruso (Mongo) would later appear in the 1950 Lex Barker film Tarzan and the Slave Girl in the role of Sengo.

California filming locations include the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, Arcadia and at the RKO Studios in Los Angeles.

Acquanetta passed in 2004 at the age of 83.
