German animated adventure based on the Tarzan stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs featured the voice talent of actor Kellan Lutz (The Legend of Hercules) for the title character.

Providing the voice of Tarzan as a teenager, actor Anton Zetterholm was previously cast as the jungle hero in the stage musical performances in Hamburg, Germany (2008-2010).

The film's soundtrack is composed by David Newman, whose step-father Robert O. Ragland provided music for 7 episodes of the Wolf Larson Tarzan television series.

At the Dublin, Ireland premire (April 2014) Kellan Lutz helped in raising funds for the West African primate conservation charity Ape Action Africa.

Orginally titled Tarzan 3D the film was released in Russia (October 2013) and later Germany (February 2014).
