This Italian gore-fest follows a team of doctors from New York City, who after witnessing cannibalism in various city hospitals, travel to a remote Indonesian island where they meet a mad doctor who is performing "experiments" on both the living and the dead.

In 1982 the film was re-edited and released under the title of Doctor Butcher M.D. in the United States with selected theaters offering patrons a "barf bag" with admission.

Additional alternate titles for the film include Island of the Last Zombies, Queen of the Cannibals and Zombie 3.

Director Marino Girolami previous film credits include The Fury of Achilles starring Gordon Mitchell.

Filmed in Latina, Lazio, Italy and on various locations in New York City.
