This opening scene of this crime thriller (filmed in California's Mojave Desert) has Coogan (Clint Eastwood) in pursuit of Running Bear (Rudy Diaz), who has discarded his boots and clothing, is armed and wearing only a leather loincloth.

Rudy Diaz (born Adolph Carrillo Diaz) was of Mescalero Apache descent and later appeared in the role of Crow Eyes in the 1981 film Windwalker.

Before becoming an actor, Rudy Diaz was a LAPD detective and was one of the first responders to arrive on the scene of Marilyn Monroe's probable suicide.

Rudy Diaz passed in 2006 at the age of 88.
